We are a group of enthusiastic, well-educated people who want to pass on our hearts, kindness, life wisdom and Montessori education to children who will grow up into a whole new generation of people.
A place that feels far from town. And yet just 3 km away
There are few places where a school and kindergarten stand on their own by the forest, on a hill that fog and smog often fail to reach, with views of the surrounding hills. A place of rich flora and fauna, where you won't meet a car, a dog walker or a noisy street.
That place is called Široký vrch and it is our place. It feels as though the town is a very long way off, yet the centre is only 3 km away. In the forest you will meet deer, hares, wild boar, buzzards, stag beetles and squirrels time and time again. Anyone visiting Most for the first time can hardly believe that such a beautiful place could be found here.

When fog sits below the hill, it's usually sunny up here
We are in the forest with the children every day – it is safe and, above all, there is unlimited space to discover the beauty of nature. We have had campfires, gone mushroom picking, and we play our favourite hide-and-seek among the trees – when we are outside, it feels like being on holiday.
The school's location is a real bonus for the children: they don't have to go for walks holding hands in a line along a road. The temperature inversion sits below us.
- We spend an hour to an hour and a half outdoors before lunch. The children come back with rosy cheeks, pleasantly tired and full of fresh air.
- After rest time and a snack we head out again, most often into our garden.
- The garden has play equipment for younger and older children, vegetable beds, a sandpit and climbing frames.
We teach to AMI standards
The Association Montessori Internationale was founded by Maria Montessori herself.
Its standards guarantee that a school offers a programme enabling children's full intellectual, social and psychological development.
Mixed-age classes
A three-year age span in every class lets children group together much as they do in a family. The older ones share what they have learnt and so consolidate their own knowledge. The younger ones learn from the older.
A prepared environment with AMI materials
In a properly prepared environment every child has the inner strength, motivation and ability to direct their own development. It includes stimulating materials, but above all informed and educated adults – parents and teachers alike.
A professionally trained teacher in every class
Preparing an adult to work with children calls for self-discipline, dedication and a professional approach. Our teachers have completed Montessori training, some of them the highest international AMI training.

At AMA SCHOOL we experienced the wonderful atmosphere of a free school. Enthusiastic, creative, naturally confident (yet not cheeky) children. They all do sport, they are active and spontaneous, and they spread joy around them, together with the school staff. The children even walked us barefoot all the way to our cars to see us off.
A year ago we were looking for an alternative to state school for our daughter. After visiting AMA SCHOOL we decided almost immediately to enrol her for the final year of kindergarten already – we were captivated by the setting, the friendly family atmosphere and the team of teachers. Now, a year on, I can only recommend the school and kindergarten!
For us, AMA is a highlight of every summer holiday when we return to Most. A beautiful setting, lovely spaces, a great programme and, above all, wonderful teachers!
Kindergarten and school under one roof
Since 2013 we have been educating children from 2 to 15 on a single site on Široký vrch.
Siblings can therefore attend one place – from the toddler group right up to grade 9.
