There are always two teachers and an assistant in the class – one is Montessori-trained and the other speaks only English all day long.

Sovička Kindergarten

First steps away from home in a small group at a calm pace

The class is set up for full-day attendance and has a capacity of 15 children. The children enjoy the friendly atmosphere of a warm, family-like environment.

They spend a large part of the day on self-care, caring for their environment and practising practical life skills. At the same time they are already working with Montessori materials that develop their senses and fine motor skills.

We work with each child individually and help them develop their potential to the full. We deal with everyday situations together and the children learn to communicate with one another. They discover that everything has a natural consequence: a broken cup of tea means sweeping up, clearing away the pieces, mopping the floor, wringing out the cloth and hanging it up to dry.

How we work

Kindly, with respect – and in English every day

We use a method based on scientific knowledge of child development. We choose our teachers carefully – we want them to be well trained and to always treat children kindly and with respect. We value the uniqueness of every child and gently support their independence and healthy self-confidence.

Thanks to the daily presence of an English-speaking teacher, the children naturally start communicating in English too. At first they absorb everything passively, but they very soon understand repeated phrases and can then give simple answers at kindergarten.

The most important feedback for us comes from parents and from children who enjoy coming to us and are happy here.
