Zuzka Poláková
Montessori Assistant & Leisure time educator
Kindergarten – Toddlers class · After-school club
My name is Zuzana and I work at AMA School as a leisure-time educator. I spend most of my time with children from preschool age through the early primary years as part of our after-school programme.
I truly enjoy being outdoors with children, observing them, following their ideas, inventing games together and simply giving them space to explore, move and enjoy being with one another. When the weather keeps us indoors, I love creating, making things, building and playing together. One of our favourite activities is working with a large polytechnic construction set, where children can use their imagination, experiment and create all kinds of structures.
I am also a grandmother to two young grandchildren, and my work at AMA School has influenced the way I spend time with them as well. I try to bring Montessori principles and respectful communication into our everyday life, approaches that I continue to experience, practise and learn through my work at AMA school.
More recently, I have also become an assistant in our Toddler classroom, where I work with two-year-old children. I feel very comfortable and happy with our youngest children, and some of them occasionally even call me “Grandma Zuzanka”, which always makes me smile.
AMA School inspires me in many ways and constantly gives me new ideas about how to understand and support children. I genuinely look forward to coming to work, spending time with them, watching them grow and discovering the world together.
